Day 1 - Bangalore(Monday)

Presentation on The Golden Chariot tour, Dos and Donts, safety and security, etc.

5.30 pm to 6.30 pm:

Visit Chitrakala Parishad / Art Gallery

6.30 pm to 7.30 pm:

Cultural Show

8.00 pm:

Arrive at Yeshwantpur Railway Station, Platform
No. 6 to a traditional Indian welcome. Dinner

Bangalore: India's Silicon Valley
The capital of Karnataka is known as the Garden City because of its pleasant weather and greenery. Unlike other busy cosmopolitan cities, temperature hovers around 30 degrees in here. The busy city boasts about rich cultural heritage apart from being one of the leading technological and industrial hub of India.  

Bandipur: Abode of elephants
Bandipur National Park is located on Mysore-Ooty Highway in Karnataka. The forest is dominated by pachyderms. Bandipur is a classic example of India's eco-conservation. Besides elephants, the park houses deer, tigers, sambhar, jackal, panthers, porcupines, peacock squirrel, wild dogs and antelopes.

Day 2 - Mysore/ Kabini/ Bandipur (Tuesday)

10:00 am:

Depart for Kabini / Bandipur after breakfast

01:00 pm:

Reach the Jungle Lodge

 

Lunch at the Jungle Lodge

Post Lunch:

Jungle / Boat Safari

 

Return in the evening for wildlife film

 

Dinner and stay overnight at Jungle Lodge

Kabini: A World of Wildlife
Rajiv Gandhi National Park, Nagarhole (Kabini), used to be the hunting retreat of the Mysore Maharajas. Today, you can spot elephants, wild boar, sambar during a jungle safari. If fate has it, you can also come across tigers and leopards. The grassland is home to over 300 varieties of chirpies.

Day 3 - Mysore (Wednesday)

Mysore sightseeing: Mysore Palace, Srirangapatnam

Mysore: A World of Royalty
Mysore occupies a prominent place in Indian history. The city is dotted by palaces, temples, aristocratic buildings, gardens and lakes. Mysore still bears the legacy of ancient rulers be it Wodeyars or Sultans. The artworks, traditional dance forms owe their origin to the said rulers. You can't ignore exotic silks and rich sandalwood which makes Mysore globally wanted.

Mysore Palace: The domes, balconies, turrets, arches and colonnades, the Palace is a treasure trove of rare carvings.The magnificent jewel - studded golden throne of the Wodeyars is displayed here during the Dussehra festival.

Srirangapatna: History lovers need no introduction to this. This iconic fortress belonged to Tipu Sultan. Located around 15kms away from Mysore, the fort now has Tipu Sultan's mosque with dual minarets, the Wellesley Bridge and the dungeons where British officers were once imprisoned.

Day 4 - Hassan (Thursday)

06:00 am:

Depart from Mysore to Hassan

08:15 am:

Arrive at Hassan

09:00 am:

Depart for sightseeing to Shravanabelagola
(Please note that you will have to climb close to 700 steps to
see the architectural wonder. Only those who can undertake this are advised to do so. Guests unwilling to experience can stay back onboard The Golden Chariot. Palanquins are available for those who cannot climb by themselves. Passengers can avail this at no extra cost)

Belur & Halebid: A World of Worship
Belur in Hassan district (around 220kms from Bangalore and 38kms from Hassan) is known for Hoysala Temple Complex. The Chennakesava Temple built by Hoysala Vishnuvardhana, to celebrate his victory over the Cholas, also attracts tourists . The temple's architecture makes it a tourist's favorite. Intricate carvings on the walls of the temple make it an archaeologist's delight.


Halebid,27 kms away from Hassan was the capital of the Hoysala dynasty. It has one of the magnificent Hoysala temples. The Hoysaleswara Temple, perched on a star-shaped base with sprawling lawns, is an architectural extravaganza. Its walls bear carvings which depict animals, birds, Hindu deities, sages and lifestyle of the Hoysala Kings.

Shravanabelagola, 52km from Hassan, is an important Jain pilgrim hub. It is home to Asia's largest monolithic statue Lord Gomateswara. Every 12 years, Jains gather here to take part in a head-anointing ceremony.

Day 5 - Hospet (Friday)

After breakfast proceed to Hampi sightseeing: Virupaksha Temple. Queens's Bath, Elephant Stables, Local crafts bazaar

Return to The Golden Chariot for Lunch

03:00 pm:

Depart for sightseeing: Royal enclosure, Hazara Rama Temple. Illuminated Vittala Temple.

08:00 pm:

Back onboard The Golden Chariot

Hampi: A World Heritage Site
Hampi houses a few temples of Hindu pilgrimage. The Virupaksha Temple built under the patronage of Vijayanagara rulers draw Hindu devotees. Other important temple ruins that deserve a mention are Achyutaraya Temple,Lakshmi Narasimha,Preksha temple, Anegondi, Anjeynandri Hill, Hemakuta Hill, Big Shivlinga and Vithala temples.

A visit to Anegundi village by traversing the gushing Tungabhadra river on a coracle is an experience that provides the guests with a glimpse into the rural life in Karnataka.

Day 6 - Badami (Saturday)

Arrival at Badami

Depart after breakfast for sightseeing: Badami Caves and Pattadakal

01:30 pm:

Return to The Golden Chariot for Lunch

Depart for Goa

Badami: A World Heritage Site
Badami is well-placed between twin rocky hills at the mouth of a ravine. The sculptures and the rust red sandstone cliffs of Badami tell many a tale of yore. The first sculptural marvel to keep one glued is the 18 armed Nataraja striking 81 dance poses.

Pattadakal, with its chiseled temples is a World Heritage Site located on the banks of the Malaprabha River. It is soaked in the richness of Chalukyan architecture. Pattadakal was at it's peak of glory under the Chalukyan Kings and was once used as a ceremonial center where kings were crowned.

Day 7 - Goa (Sunday)

09:30 am:

Depart for sightseeing

Visit the famous churches of old Goa

12:15 pm:

Visit an old Portuguese house: Sola Souto Maior for tea/coffee and cookies; shopping at the emporium

02:00 pm:

Reach Majorda Beach Resort for lunch

03:00 pm:

An Ayurvedic massage, a visit to the casino, a dip in the pool / beach, etc. (Ayurvedic massage and casino charges extra as applicable)

06:00 pm:

Depart from the resort

07:15 pm:

Return to The Golden Chariot.

Goa: A World of Golden Beaches
Call it "Pearl of the Orient" or a "Tourist Paradise", Goa is tells a tale. Be it Portugese colonies, colonial buildings and churches, nightlife — you can't miss out on this place.

The most happening beach break! But Goa also happens to be archaeological wonder. Open-air Ancestral Museum of goa showcases huge statues and reflecting culture and craftsmanship of ancient Goa.

Chapora Fort — Located on a hilltop, the fort provides you with a fabulous view of the sea, colonial buildings and beaches.

Fort Aguada — the first Asian light house was built at this fort. The Central Jail is now housed here.

Secretariat — This massive structure is always on demand because of it's exotic location beside a river. The legislative Assembly is housed here.

Candolim Beach — Apart from a direct rendezvous with the sea, this beach hosts adventure sports like surfing, paragliding and water skiing.

Calangute Beach — Always on demand because of water sports, pubs and nightclubs! One of the major hot-spots, thronged by young blood!

Miramar Beach — The confluence of river Mandovi with Arabian Sea happens here. You got to be here to witness the silent surroundings and beautiful landscape. White sands, coconut and palms trees grooving at pace with cool breeze, sea food, array of drinks, you'll be on a run for choices.

Anjunda and Aquada beaches are known for spectacular surroundings and seafood platter.Apart from seafood, you'll also get variety of fish and chicken dishes cooked in international style. Pubs rule!

Day 8 - Bangalore (Monday)

08:00 to 09:30 am:

Reach Yeswanthpur railway station, farewell by the entire crew.
